Crypto.com Mishap details

A woman named Thevamanogari Manivel mistakenly received more than $10 million from one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges, Crypto.com. Instead of filling in a $100 refund, the account number was filled in again.

After receiving the payment, Thevamanogari transferred it to her sister Thilagavathy Gangadory’s account, instead of notifying the organisation. This error appeared during a Crypto.com audit on December 21.

Then the organization filed a lawsuit against the two sisters. During court proceedings, it was revealed that on February 22, part of the amount was used to purchase a luxury property by the sisters.

The court has now ordered Thevamanogari to sell the property and return the amount to the organisation. If this is not done, it will be considered contempt of court and subsequent proceedings will be held on October 22.
